…for talking shit about someone without properly researching a quote. I let something else piss me off and I ought to be ashamed of myself for directing it towards the wrong person. I should’ve known better. I didn’t.
I said some nasty things about Stephen Shore in this post - as well as on a follow up comment on the same post - and it was immature of me. I showed no decency to the man, or the few people who read my blog, by not looking up the entire conversation the quote was taken out of. Quotes are taken out of context to fuck with people all the time. Why didn’t I find out if that was too? I would’ve found out why he said what he’d said (original audio interview here) [via 2point8] I would’ve also found out his response to the debate that had sparked from the comment bit. This only shows how ignorant I can be and that is depressing. What’s going to college and getting a degree prepared me for, then - more ignorant behavior?
I apologize to Stephen Shore - “I’m sorry, Sir”. I apologize for this lapse of judgment and the vulgar display of my anger stemming from an unrelated event.
Now I could have simply gone back and erased that post but that would have done two things, (1) erased the trace of Jason Kottke’s visit/comment and (2) hidden the fact that I can be, with a Master’s degree in my pocket, the biggest dumbfuck on the planet. I need to have that episode stamped on the web forever so it reminds me of what I’d done once.
You folks shouldn’t have been exposed to such moronicity from me either. I apologize to you too.
p.s. I still hate the MFA badge-wearing pricks who leave know-it-all criticisms on people’s pictures. I still hate those bastards.

Nice that you apologized. We all can get a bit upset at times and regret it later. I know that I do.
