Meeting Mark Hall
I had a wonderful first time meeting with Mark Hall, founder of VodPod, in New York last night; he’s on a tightly scheduled business trip but had wanted to take a little time to meet me. I’ve been on VodPod since February and have collected massive amounts of videos for my several Pods since then. On various stages of VodPod’s updates and additions, Mark has asked for my opinion and suggestions and I have always felt proud to be able to share. How useful I’ve been, I don’t know. Doesn’t matter: he asked. He did the same in person, inquiring if there were things I’d like to recommend.
It always feels bizarre to find usernames stand in front of you, perfectly being human. I’ve met a couple of bloggers in the past and have felt the same every time. I have one regret about last night’s meet, though: if I’d had shut the hell up about myself and asked him about his ideas and plans that led to VodPod’s birth; celebrated its first birthday last Tuesday, by the way. Here was my chance to pick this man’s brains and I fucking blew it. I live, but apparently don’t learn.
