Walter Murch

Walter Murch is a philosopher who happens to work in the movie business. There are some who have their say with words. He has his say with words, sound, and visuals. It doesn’t matter if you would like to be in front of the camera, or behind, read In the Blink of an Eye. Read Michael Ondaatje’s book where Murch talks in detail about life and filmmaking. Not to be missed, Behind The Seen.

Rent Apocalypse Now: Redux. Make full use of that surround sound system you’ve set up. Don’t have that luxury? (I don’t) Slap on a pair of headphones and then watch the film (Like I have). Rent The Conversation. It’s a Coppola/Murch masterpiece!

Never Say Nevermore

Happy Halloween! I’ll leave it to LK to do a funny take on this day. I myself shall resort to some plain old Edgar A. Poe… a radio drama version I’d directed and designed in 2005.

This is a brilliant radio adaptation of the classic poem by William Spear. Narrator is Thos Shipley, and the fantastic original score is by Kevin Mahonchak. It has been an honor working with each of them. The Raven was produced under the Hassberry Theatre Company banner.
