Reading some of the ethical issues re: use of Photoshop to ‘enhance’ a picture I couldn’t help but notice most photographers nowadays are fine with certain things that would horrify purists, like cropping, cloning, erasing etc. I started to read more about this after the John Nack link to a story where a UK politician wanted himself added into a photo when he couldn’t make it to the event, which in turn pointed me to Scott Kelby’s. For example, he tries his best to avoid cropping but has no problem erasing distracting objects or duplicating items within photo.  Everyone has guidelins (s)he sticks with. Good to find out what they are.

Me? I edit most of my photos in iPhoto. I crop quite a bit and am too lazy to edit on Photoshop. I never erase or duplicate items within a photo, and I never drink and drive. Mmm…let me photoshop that last part. Grab my eraser tool - first duplicate using Command-J - and wipe out ‘and.’ Then I’ll grab my Text tool and type, oh I don’t know, ‘or.’ There, what a wordsmith.
