Surprises

by Emon on September 25, 2008

Surprises come in many shapes and forms. Accepted. But when it’s out of the blue…that’s a fucker! Sometimes you surprise yourself with your abilities and sometimes with an unknown weakness - the same one you were convincedĀ  you weren’t capable of having.

What we don’t know about ourselves, when revealed, can be a pleasant surprise or can be surprisingly unpleasant to deal with.

Do you really know the other person you deal with every day well enough? Have you ever had someone close reveal something that made you stop in your tracks and ask yourself: “Who is this?”

I’ve got to say I’ve been very blessed in that regard. I have both very good and open friends, but also an innate ability to ignore heavily those inconsistencies that might bother others.

It is a blessing, Jim, to have friends like that. I’m usually good at not letting things bother me…but sometimes…one creeps in.

Funny how the next morning - not unlike this one - the same ’surprisingly unpleasant’ feeling seems almost laughable. Although there is a bit of a surprise factor in why I let that bother me in the first place.
