Walking In The Rain
Walking In The Rain, originally uploaded by EmonomE.
Oct. 9. Decided to walk from 40th Street and 5th (NYPL - Mid Manhattan Branch) to 57th and 8th (A train station). Just as I walked out of a Starbucks with an Americano in hand and a ‘Song of The Day’ card [Band of Horses - No One’s Gonna Love You] it started to pour. I worried about my iPod getting wet. I worried the books I’d picked up at the library also might. Meanwhile I was drenched. Didn’t care. Didn’t want to buy an umbrella or stand at a dry corner. I had to walk, even if it makes me look miserable. It just felt right to walk. Had to stop at one point and take this shot with my camera phone.
Zakir Hussan and Charles Lloyd’s ‘Sangam’ played the whole time. Mm mm.

[…] I’d taken this other shot a few months ago making it into a little poetic post, if you will. I don’t like repeating myself but when I was on my Monday night walk again 3 nights ago, saw this huge steam and couldn’t resist snapping couple more ‘rain shots’ . And yellow cabs always make great characters in a New York story. […]
