Wisdom, You Say

December 19, 2007

Wisdom, you say, is not my strongest suit.

I wear it, you noticed, with resentment towards age.

Wisdom, you’d heard, does not make a better man,

in a world we get to build ourselves, at least,

you reiterate – fixing your eyes at me.

Wisdom, I found, is a hat you wear every now and then;

Styling it with dozens of flashy pins worded with tired lines.

Wisdom, you see, if you had any, makes or breaks with good timing,

And best served after morning coffee.

I’ll take mine black today, bitch!
