Turtles and Lilya

by Emon on August 20, 2007

Two films I’ve watched back to back and hope you check them out as well.  Bahman Ghobadi’s Turtles Can Fly, and Lukas Moodysson’s Lilya 4-Ever. Yes, both stories are heart-breaking and perhaps too much to take in for a Saturday night, but I needed it. Those who’ve seen both films may agree with me that the two are essentially about the same thing. I guess I was meant to watch them together, following with a third item I’ll write about in the next post.

And guess what the theme of that post is going to be.

I’ve seen Turtles Can Fly. What an emotional film.
