I kept thinking how many got to say 'fuck this fucking umbrella' and tossed it. The way these umbrellas look reminds me of the machines in War of the Worlds after Tom Cruise...er...virus finishes them off.

That was really an interesting set of pictures. On one hand, it makes me think that in the NY, umbrellas are disposable like paper coffee cups, but then that can't be right. So there must have been some brutal wind to take that kind of toll. It looks like some sort of avian plague at first glance.

Nicely done.

Nicole: Thank you! After 40 or so, I had to stop because it would go on forever, it seemed. Yes, more San Diego pics. When can we see some?

Dee: Thank you! You couldn't have missed them if you were walking the same blocks. They were there every direction I looked.

I really hope your readers check out the full-screen slideshow, it looks much better that way! What a great idea for a photo set! I wonder how many you would have found if you had spent the entire day wandering around...or the whole weekend! I haven't been out around San Diego yet with my camera but I'm thinking about forcing myself to head out before dawn a few times a week and get down near the beach or downtown for the early morning light. And of course there are some sunsets and palm trees waiting to be captured!
