Sorta Besta Halloween Parade Pics

by Emon on November 1, 2007

Decided to check out the Halloween parade for the first time in 12 years of living in the city. Alas, not to be. Both sides of the streets were packed before I got there and I couldn’t find a dot to stand and watch the paraders. I tried.

I did, however, get some shots of these folks. This is probably one time of the year New Yorkers love their pictures taken (except for one hot dog stand guy). I wish I had a better camera and more time to take some good photos. Next year, definitely.

Those are some pretty groovy costumes. I love the juxtaposition of Darth Vader and the homeless guy in the last shot. Very thought provoking.

The baby was amazing. There were dozens of flashlights going off in front of him and he remained cool as a cucumber. You don’t see it but his mommy was sporting a stache as well.

Oh the many many cool costumes I didn’t get to take pictures of. For some reason I always find a sleeping homeless person and the right subject/object next to him/her to make a ’statement’.
