Don’t Compare Yourself

by Emon on August 27, 2008

And other great pieces of advice from guest blogger David duChemin at Photoshop Insider.

Man said it. Comparing your work with others will only stall your progress. You can learn from others and from their mistakes but it makes no sense to make comparisons. This piece of advice works for any creative work. Loved the face that he thinks being pro doesn’t mean someone is better than an amateur.

When I decided to take photographs the way I see it in my head, it made all the difference. Sure it may not ‘do it’ for some…and that’s just fucking dandy with me.

Read the guest blogger Wednesday series at Scott’s blog. Very inspiring.
