Lightsaber Battle in NYC

in Video

Ah the things that you get to be part of when you live in the Apple. Decided to take my 5D MKII out to anything this past Saturday and just shoot! I had been shooting videos with it more and was thinking of taking pics only. Like that worked out. Just before 5pm I wondered where to go. Five minutes later, I found this. One of three pics I kind of liked was that of the poet’s. But this video – I really like how it turned out.

Now to some nerdistry. Shot with Canon 5D Mark II. Used the always reliable $100 Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. Audio is recorded with built-in mic. I spent most of last night trying to encode video to something that doesn’t look shitty online and Ed McNichol’s tutorial was the answer. When the opening title looked smooth I knew this setting was it.

Anyway…let the battle begin. [click here for iPhone]

p.s. please give the full-screen option a try & let me know what you think? thanks!

Looks awesome Emon, cool to hear your voice after all this time too. Looking forward to what else you can find out there in wacky NYC.

Thanks, man! Love doing stuff like this and love seeing people just get together and be silly and playful. I’d be swinging some lightsabers myself if I wasn’t filming. And yes, dared to share my voice with the world! :)
