One Face. Four Stories.

All weekend long I’ll be posting pics from the NYC/ING 2008 Marathon. [slide show 1] [slide show 2]

You don’t often get to see a fascinating face like that. I kept wondering where had I seen her before. What do you think she is thinking in each of those shots? I’m sure you and I will see completely different things. But her expressions are what I call – ’3rd act expressions’. It is a made-up term which means, if you look at them again, each expression feels like the final act of a story. You dig?

She just doesn’t look like the kind of person who would put on that funny hat. She looks so serious!

I showed my mom who said, “She’s thinking about someone falling from the top of a building.” : )

Yes. And there is so much going on in those moments. At least in my eyes.

Heh heh, your mom’s funny! :)

My version: She is meeting a long lost friend after decades. The one that got away. He said he’d be running this year and told her to stand at that corner wearing that hat, the same one he bought her way back when. She stood there, waiting…and waiting…
…until the last runner passed her by.
