Idiots, it IS about the money.
If I made a hundred million on one deal, thats it. Time for retirement. Hell, if I made 1 million on a deal, it’s time for retirement.
I agree. But I kinda see what they’re saying. For some people it’s the journey and not the destination. There’s also a sense of guilt that comes with finding fame and fortune at an early stage of one’s life. How do I know? I don’t.
I know that after finishing every film and radio projects, or even a semester at school – back when – I felt like shit for a couple of weeks. I felt useless. I’d bounce back, only when I had a new project to do. Now that may be comparing apples and oranges because I sure didn’t get showered with money for getting good grades or completing a short film.
I’m on the same boat with you, Jason; it is about money. I’d love to not think about how I can make some. But I do think about it because it’s a necessity. And necessity has me inventing ideas 24/7…minus the 5 hours I get to sleep.
Totally.
I would also find myself bored and useless after a while, but to make myself work crazy long hours when I’m already stable would be weird. Sure, if I liked doing something that could potentially make me richer, I would have an interest.
If I bought a house worth millions I would rather work out of it then spend time in an office away from home.
It’s the very last sentence in Jason’s second comment that I really agree with. I think that I would have to keep working on something no matter how much money is in the bank. But that ‘something’ would have to be a passion, not just a way to make more money. And it would also have to allow me the time to enjoy life, my family, and my home.
By the way, I didn’t follow the link and read the article (or video, not sure what it is) that you guys are talking about. I’m just commenting on comments
